Where these heights come from
Every height here was checked against the parks' published requirements in July 2026, and it is the same data behind our height checker and the Chart My Day planner — one source, so the tools cannot drift apart and tell you different things.
Requirements genuinely do change. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopened in May 2026 with its minimum lowered from 40 inches to 38, which opened it up to a whole bracket of children overnight. Confirm in the My Disney Experience or Universal Orlando app before you promise anything, and remember the measurement taken at the ride is the one that counts — shoes on.
We track the minimum height to ride. Several attractions also require a supervising companion for shorter riders, and a few have a second, taller threshold to ride alone. Those details are on each attraction's own guide.
