If you've been waiting for a reason to book a fall Disney World trip, here's one: Disney has rolled out a round of resort room discounts for late summer into early fall, and at the top end they knock up to 40% off the nightly rate. The catch, as always, is that the biggest numbers come with the most fine print — so let's break down who actually gets what.
The deal, by group
Annual Passholders get the best of it: up to 40% off rooms at select Disney Resort hotels on stays of four nights or more, for arrivals most nights from July 30 through October 3, 2026, and up to 35% off for stays of one to three nights.
Florida residents are next in line, with up to 35% off on stays of four or more consecutive nights, or up to 30% off for one to three nights, over that same July 30 to October 3 window.
And if you're neither a Passholder nor a Florida resident, you're not shut out. The general-public offer, listed on Disney's own special-offers page, is up to 30% off when you book five consecutive nights or longer, and up to 25% off for shorter stays of one to four nights — same July 30 through October 3 arrival window.
Read the fine print before you get excited
A few things worth knowing. “Up to” is doing real work in all of these — the headline percentage lands on select hotels and select dates, and value and moderate resorts often see smaller discounts than the deluxe ones. The offers are room-only, so you're not folding tickets or dining into the discount, the number of rooms held for each deal is limited, and the longer-stay tiers exist because Disney would rather you book four and five nights than two.
Why this is better than it looks
Here's the part that makes this deal genuinely good rather than just fine: it lands right on top of one of the quietest stretches of the Disney World calendar. Late August through September is hurricane-and-heat season in Central Florida, which keeps crowds and prices down — we've written before about just how empty the parks have been this year. Stack a 30-to-40% room discount on top of short wait times, and you're getting the version of Disney World that costs less and fights you less for every square foot of pavement.
One honest caveat: discounts like these are capacity-controlled and can sell out or change, so the rate you see quoted today isn't guaranteed to be there next week. If the math works for your family, it's worth pricing out sooner rather than later.
